I'm Mary H., the breeder behind Mary Hickey's Boxers located in Massachusetts. We care deeply about the Boxer breed and we aim to help ensure the health and future of these wonderful dogs. Our goal is to produce puppies that are capable of participating in sports and conformation, but that are also happy to be companionable, entertaining house dogs that enjoy quieter moments as well. We want our pups to be adaptable and thrive with their families wherever they are.

Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy (ARVC)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
