I'm Rachel M., the breeder behind Mid-Columbia Labradors located in Pasco, WA. Our breeding program started with one small litter that turned into a fulfilling, lifelong passion! We believe there’s no greater joy than providing families with companions that share unconditional love no matter what.
Q. & A. with Rachel
Why did you start breeding?
My grandparents, uncle, and aunt have all bred labs, so it’s a generational passion. We love to produce solid dogs for families looking for companions, hunting buddies, and even service animals.
What makes your program special?
My specific goal is to not only produce good, sound pups; but to provide the resources for ‘everyday’ dog owners to be able to learn how to train their pup. Purchase one of our pups, and purchase my me. Let me help you pick the right pup, and train it to live its best life.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

About Lady
Lady is a 5th generation lab from my family’s favorite bloodline. She’s sweet, driven, and a great momma. Her father comes from solid hunting lines here in the Tri-Cities. She loves her guardian home family, which includes grandkids and hunting. She’s great with other dogs and loves the vet.

Parent health testing
Breeder-Reported Testing
Great level
Mid-Columbia Labradors reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Labrador Retrievers.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC), Centronuclear Myopathy (CNM), D Locus (Dilute) DNA test
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
