I'm Robert and Brittany R., the breeder behind Oak Hollow Retrievers located in Franklin, VA. The sole priority of Oak Hollow Retrievers is providing American homes with high-quality Labrador Retrievers capable of adapting to each individual or family’s critical needs. We pride ourselves on the meticulous selection of bloodlines and personality traits, to ensure a long and prosperous life.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    We got introduced to breeding through a local community of highly accredited gun dog owners and trainers. From there we learned the ins and outs of proper breeding etiquette for medically sound dogs with a high capability of performance. As we continue we will constantly be looking to advance and improve our program to offer the best Labrador Retrievers we can.

  • What makes your program special?

    We focus our breeding program on genetically clearing each puppy from all diseases, dilution, and structural issues. We select temperaments for performance, drive, sociability, and intelligence traits. Each breeding is meticulously researched for pedigree achievement, DNA panels, OFA certifications, and performance titles; ensuring your new family member arrives with the utmost quality.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Robert and Brittany

Robert and Brittany has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Puppy prices include a $250 non-refundable deposit and between $2,300 - $2,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes: De-worming at 3, 5, and 7 weeks, First round of Distemper / Hepatitis/ Parvo/ Parainfluenza vaccine, microchips, AKC registration, and health cert from the vet. The deposit will be paid to hold the spot and selection of a puppy. This will be on a first come first served basis. Contract with Sire will have first pick each litter if desired.”

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • DNA Disease Panel, PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC), Centronuclear Myopathy (CNM), D Locus (Dilute) DNA test

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    Exceptional breeding program! We were very particular about who our new pup's breeder was to be. We actually drove to the breeder's home to check the environment that the pups were being raised in. Wow! What an awesome setup. The breeding house was clean (even has its own washer/dryer), you have to leave your shoes outside of the breeding house to make sure that the pups are not exposed unnecessarily to any outside diseases. The pups were happy, mama was precious and Robert and Brittany were friendly, very professional and knowledgeable. The quality of the pup's care was outstanding - good food, sensory stimulation and excellent communication between them and the potential pup parents. We HIGHLY recommend Robert and Brittany from Oak Hollow Retrievers.

    We’ve had a wonderful experience with Oak Hollow Retrievers. Not only is our puppy incredibly healthy, curious, and energetic, but she came with a wealth of knowledge. From day one, Robert and Brittany took time to talk about their philosophy and approach to raising dogs. We’re information-junkies, so having someone spend an hour explaining why they do things and invite us out to see how they do the things they say the do - that transparency and commitment to quality is rare and something we greatly admire. Even the day we picked up our fur baby, we left with a folder of information and stuffies with her litter’s scent on it to help her settle in. (THE DETAILS, people!)     Robert and Brittany were, to say the least, very accommodating and actively involved throughout the entire process, from selection to the day we took Penny home. Their knowledge of the retriever breed was evident from our first conversation. When I went to their facility I knew immediately we picked the right breeder for our new family member. The facility was clean, organized, and set up perfectly. Robert and Brittany sent pictures and texts throughout the 8-week period prior to pickup detailing the growth and life milestones that Penny achieved while she was in Oak Hollow's care. After pickup, Robert and Brittany checked in periodically throughout the next couple of days. They offered advice, answered any questions that came up in moments, and did it with a smile.
