I'm Rachel J., the breeder behind Riverside Sunset Labrador Retrievers located in Beaverdam, VA. We strive to produce high quality, health tested puppies that make wonderful companions and hunters as well as show prospects. Our dogs are our family members first and foremost. We're passionate, responsible breeders who truly love our dogs.

I have always been invested in the well-being of animals. I wanted to give back to the breed by breeding healthy pups and placing them into loving homes.What makes your program special?
I strive to breed healthy, quality pups that can fit any lifestyle. I take pride in raising well tempered and socialized puppies who can excel in work, show, or as beloved companions.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Getting a puppy from Rachel
Rachel has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and between $1,950 - $2,375 final payment, before taxes & fees.
“The price is based on the parents and all puppies have AKC limited registration, prepaid and registered microchip, first set of vaccinations, up to date on deworming, and a veterinary health check. The puppies are raised in the home and socialized to the environment as well as litter trained and introduced to crating and leash walking. Deposits can be moved to another litter, but are non-refundable unless the reserved puppy becomes unavailable or puppy of your preference is not born.”

Rachel may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Litter update on 15 Feb. •…Draco x Xena babies are doing great. Mama Xena has been battling mastitis so I didn’t have much free time for individual pictures this week. I am hoping to get those done this weekend. They have started eating soft food and will probably be weaned in the next week to give mama a break so she can heal faster. They are learning how to bark and play and it is so adorable!!

Litter update on 15 Feb. •…Wesson x Avery pups are getting HUGE and so handsome😍 I was hoping for a girl from this pairing but with all boys that’s not possible right now. These boys are beautiful and I will definitely be repeating the cross later on. They are almost 5 weeks and already pros at eating dry food. Avery is the best mom and still spends lots of time with them and even plays with them as they are starting to figure out things like walking, pawing, and biting things.

Hip Dysplasia (Preliminary), Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (Preliminary), Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
