I'm Ruth B., the breeder behind Southern Ark ACDS located in Saylersville, KY. Southern Ark ACDS' top goal is the provide healthy dogs that can work livestock and be excellent family pets. My dogs are bred for correct conformation and temperament. I keep in mind a variety of factors when breeding, including drive, energy, temperament, and structure. My goal is to produce balanced dogs that will be able to thrive wherever they are needed.
Q. & A. with Ruth
Why did you start breeding?
I got into breeding when I got my first Australian Cattle Dog, Belle. She had such an amazing drive to please and herd livestock. I love being about to share affordable pups which makes it easier for starting out farmers in need of a helper.
What makes your program special?
My breeding program is special because I not only care about my dogs and the pups I've produced, but also the families that take them home. Our breeding program loves to give back more than we take on a day-to-day basis.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are blue. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
