Meet the breeder

I'm LaRena P., the breeder behind Lakylu Kennels located in Point, TX. Our puppies are backed with years of selective breeding of proven, health tested dogs. We strive to better the breed based on breed standards, temperament, and trainability in our dogs. We actively participate in AKC performance and conformation shows. We welcome you to visit or call!

Q. & A. with LaRena

  • Why did you start breeding?

We love sharing our lives with our animals. From basic obedience and hunting to gathering livestock and simply being our friends, our dogs are constant companions in our lives. Breeding dogs is a passion and an art. We strive to bring the best pedigrees and individuals together to preserve and improve the breed.
  • What makes your program special?

All of our dogs are AKC registered and come from champion bloodlines. They are carefully health screened through OFA and other testing that includes genetics and advanced health screenings. Our breeding dogs are conformation pointed and/or titled and many carry obedience titles as well. We only raise a few litters a year and are very selective about the families we place our puppies with.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Australian Cattle Dog puppies include blue mottled, red speckled, red mottled, blue speckled, and blue. Labrador Retriever puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
