I'm Celeste N., the breeder behind Sliding Creek Retrievers located in Liberty, SC. Our goal is to produce dogs that are healthy, fearless, intelligent, loving, quick to learn. Placing the pups where they thrive.

Why did you start breeding?
I bought a chocolate lab puppy from a breeder and fell in love. I've always been an entrepreneur and started talking to breeders but found there were so many "old wives tales" about breeding that I didn't know what to believe. I found Avidog which is based on science and research. I learned about nutrition, raising pups whelping and much more. I've been very active in this group.What makes your program special?
I am constantly evaluating my breeding dogs for health, longevity, and temperament. I take classes to advance my education in breeding. I vet my buyers, have a health guarantee, do ENS, ESI, temperament test and have a detailed socialization program. I work closely with my Reproductive Vet, I use Titers to guide myself and my buyers with vaccinations. I educate my buyers.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are liver. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Brucellosis
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
