I'm Tess B., the breeder behind 5Z Shih Tzu Squad located in Clifton, TX. Welcome to 5Z Shih Tzu Squad!
We are a family-based Shih Tzu breeding program devoted to raising happy, healthy, and beautifully unique Shih Tzus. Specializing in rare colors, each of our puppies is whelped and raised inside our home, surrounded by love and daily interaction with our five children. This ensures they grow up well-socialized, playful, and ready to become cherished members of their forever families.
Health and temperament are our top priorities. We carefully select our pairings to produce healthy companions with loving, gentle personalities. DNA testing is available upon request, giving families peace of mind about their new furry friend’s background.
At 5Z Shih Tzu Squad, our goal is simple: to provide families with not only a stunning Shih Tzu, but a loyal, affectionate pet that brings joy for years to come.
Q. & A. with Tess
Why did you start breeding?
My journey began as a child growing up with Boxers, experiencing the joy of a few family litters. That early love inspired me to breed Boxers for 8 years. After retiring them, I discovered Shih Tzus and started 5Z Shih Tzu Squad, raising puppies in-home with my kids to nurture healthy, happy, and well-socialized companions.
What makes your program special?
What makes 5Z Shih Tzu Squad special is that every puppy is whelped and raised in our home, surrounded by love, children, and daily socialization. We focus on rare colors, healthy genetics, loving temperaments, and offer optional DNA testing. Each puppy leaves as a confident, family-ready companion, raised with care, attention, and lifelong social skills.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include chocolate, red and tan, black, liver, silver, black and white, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
