I'm Don & Sheryl G., the breeder behind Ruckerhill Jacks located in Winchester, KY. We are members of the Jack Russell Terrier Club of America and the Jack Russell Terrier Club of Canada. Our dogs are the product of careful breeding, with great temperaments, excellent form, and the ability to excel in the hunting field.

Why did you start breeding?
Sheryl and I started with Jack Russell Terriers in 2000 after the passing of our Border Collie and best friend of 17 years. I was taken by the intelligence and tenacity of a little white dog named Digger while Blacksmithing at a farm. After getting a Jack, and promising the breeder we'd register Missy with the Jack Russell Terrier Club of America, the love for this breed grew into our passion.What makes your program special?
Ruckerhill Jack Russell Terrier Puppies are the product of strategically-planned litters that are bred from genetically tested parents for outstanding family-friendly temperaments, quality companions, and individuals that are well balanced, structurally correct for conformation and the ability to excel in the hunt field, the show ring, or in your back yard.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include tri-color and tan and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Getting a puppy from Don & Sheryl
Don & Sheryl has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices include a $200 non-refundable deposit and between $1,800 - $2,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.
“Due to the hunt drive and activity level of our Jacks we will not place in homes that do not have fenced yards. We don't take deposits until Applications are approved & puppies are whelped to reduce the issues with wait lists. The $200 deposit is applied to the total price of the puppy. Non refundable deposit is accepted only after puppy is whelped and Application review and acceptance interview is completed. Ruckerhill will not respond to requests to accept a deposit prior to interview...”

Don & Sheryl may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA), JRTCA Registry, JRT Health Registry
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Primary Lens Luxation (PLL), Spinocerebellar Ataxia (SCA), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

These breeders were fantastic to work with during the whole practice. It is/was obvious that they take great care in caring for the pups and making sure they are healthy and in good condition before they will release them to buyers. They also provided everything needed to make the transition easy to bring the puppy home. I could not be more pleased and highly recommend working with them. Now for my puppy, she is adoraable and very healthy. A beautiful example of the Jack Russell breed. I will share pictures in the future when I have more time.
