Making payments through Good Dog

We make it easy and secure to pay for your puppy so that you can focus on what matters most – your new best friend.

Good Dog accepts payments through either any major credit or debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or ACH bank transfer. For payments made through credit or debit cards, there’s an additional 3-3.5% processing fee, which is directed to our payment processor. However, you can choose to opt out of this card processing fee by paying with an ACH bank transfer, in the checkout menu.

Payment plans: If the breeder you work with offers payment plans, you can pay for your puppy in installments while your breeder receives payment in full upfront. At checkout, select Klarna to split your final payment into four interest-free installments (up to $2,000) or choose monthly financing. You can use your existing Klarna account or create a new one to track all payments.

Sales tax: Good Dog collects and files sales tax on final puppy payments. You'll pay sales tax when you make your final payment for your puppy. At that time, sales tax will be applied to your entire taxable transaction, including any deposit you've already made, the final payment amount, and any additional services your breeder includes in that final payment invoice, like transportation or boarding. There are a few ways to complete a deposit or final puppy payment on Good Dog:

1. Complete a payment request from your breeder

  • The request will include a message from the breeder and a summary of the payment
  • You'll need to confirm or add your puppy's pickup location (your breeder may have already included this), so any applicable sales tax can be included
  • Select “Pay now” from the email and follow the prompts. You can pay with any major credit or debit card or via bank transfer.
  • Once you’ve completed your payment, you and your breeder will receive confirmation emails
