To request a payment on Good Dog, follow the steps below:
- From your Good Dog Dashboard, click on Payments
- Click Payment Request at the top of the screen
- Follow the on-screen prompts to
🐾 choose a contact (from your waitlist or enter the buyer's email address)
🐾 enter the amount (NOTE: If you’re requesting a deposit or dog payment you’ll be shown your payout amount at this time.)
🐾 categorize the payment as deposit, dog payment, or other (transportation, boarding/training, etc.)
🐾 add a personal message
🐾 add optional information about the dog
- View a summary of your payment request and payout amount and click Request Now to send the request to your buyer.
The buyer will receive your request via email and can proceed to submit their payment following the link therein.
- After the buyer completes the payment, you will receive a receipt via email that the payment was successful and the money will be directly paid out to your preferred payout method
🐾 A record of the payment will also be stored in your Good Dog dashboard on your Payments dashboard and in your message thread with the buyer
🐾 If you haven’t set up your preferred payout method yet, the money will sit safely in your Good Dog account until you specify how you’d like to receive it in your Payment Settings.
USING YOUR UNIQUE PAYMENT LINK
You can also ask a buyer to pay you through your personal secure Good Dog payment link. You can access and share your link from the
Payments dashboard.
🐾 To collect payments using your link, simply send your link to a buyer (or post the link to your personal website) and they’ll be able to enter an amount and complete a secure payment. If the buyer is completing a deposit or dog payment you’ll see the deduction applied (unless this was a buyer you referred to Good Dog) and your payout amount when the payment is complete prior to you accepting it.
🐾 As soon as a payment is made, you’ll receive an email receipt confirming that your payment has been received and paid out to your preferred payout method.
IMPORTANT REMINDER ABOUT PAYMENTS ON GOOD DOG
🐾 The buyer has the option to pay with zero fees at the time of payment and will clearly see Good Dog’s Buyer Protection & Support Fee and its benefits displayed separately from your prices.
🐾 You will always receive a receipt via email after your buyer has made a payment that instantly verifies the payment. The receipt will also summarize where the money was paid out to and how long it will take to reach your account.
