Minna N.

Breeder of Boxers

Meet the breeder

I'm Minna N., the breeder behind Boxnen Boxers located in Omro, WI. At Boxnen Boxers, we breed German Boxers for pet, show and for performance sports in a small home set kennel.

Q. & A. with Minna

  • Why did you start breeding?

I helped out at couple Boxer kennels as a child and knew I wanted to be a breeder. Our dogs are bred to preserve the Boxer and working breed. Health tested for hips, heart (echo and holter) and DM. We are also starting to do all spines. We raise our puppies with similarities to puppy culture protocols including the early neurological stimuli. They are always outgoing and well balanced.
  • What makes your program special?

The way I bring my puppies up is exceptional. I take great pride in bringing them up so that they are ready to start their new life with their new owners. By starting the care for the momma dog and taking her for car rides while pregnant, our puppies are always outgoing and used to car rides. They are used to just about everything. We crate train our puppies and microchip them before they leave.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

  • Hip Dysplasia

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
