Meet the breeder

I'm Cheryl B., the breeder behind Caldron Falls Doodles and Poodles located in Athelstane, WI. Hi my name is Cheryl and I'm the breeder behind Caldron Falls Doodles And Poodles. I've been breeding for 30+ years and always had a love for all animals since I can remember. Growing up around many animals including puppies of course, inspired me as to where I am today. I had a hobby farm for 10 years and pretty much any animal you can think of. After starting out with our family pet Ginger(Labrador Retriever) (many moons ago) and eventually moving on to Teddy Bears and German shorthairs. I retired my dogs to live out there life. All lived (total 6 ) between 16 and 17.4 years and my last passing away at the ripe old age of 17.5 years. In 2018 I purchased my first standard poodle. I've always thought they were such a beautiful regal looking dog. I love the fact that theirs no shedding and on top of that obedient, easy to train & unbelievably smart. My other half lost his Labrador of 16 years and decided after a couple of years of Mo's passing to purchase another. Mojo 2 . Labrador retrievers are excellent dogs in every way, just not a fan of shedding. And that's where the labradoodles came into play. We only planned on breeding one litter but when the litter came I realized how much I missed breeding and puppies ( oh those puppies) and decided to get back into it. Combining the traits of a Labrador with the Poodle make the most amazing puppies and that's when I fell in love with the labradoodle and decided to move forward breeding doodles and poodles. I take great pride in my adult dogs making sure they are all tested & healthy so as to produce the best quality pups. I do not kennel my dogs. Instead I have a large dog house 14x16 equipped with heat, air conditioning and big futon. Along with that I have an area for welping and puppies stay in there for the f 1st few weeks. They have all together around 13,000 sq ft of run space where they can go out as they please. They should be able play and run and just be a dogs is my belief. They are all exercised daily and have a great spoiled life. I take great pride in the work of raising healthy, socialized confident puppies. They are raised in my home with utmost care . I personally oversee their vaccinations, vet care & upbringing before they are adopted. But it all starts with healthy moms & dads. 1st & foremost my females are bred and once they reach 4 litters they are retired. People often look at only the price and think the price is so expensive. You have to look at the whole picture and that starts with your breeding females and males. They have to be kept healthy also. Vetting, UTD on yearly shots, tick & heartworm meds, testing hips, eyes, dna, then there's a place you have to house these dogs, fencing, food, treats, toys and care in general is very costly. Caring for 10 dogs the cost is immense. But I do this because I want to produce a HEALTHY puppy. Then there's also never ending hours, sleepless nights, and loss . To loose a puppy causes great heartache and it's very trying. Your wondering what you could of did or didn't do. It takes it's toll. But loss is part of it and that's the most difficult when it does happen. On the flip side there's nothing better than raising that pup, finding the right people (which can be tricky) and see the faces on these people when they come to pick that puppy up and the joy it brings makes it all worth it. This is not an easy thing because the short time I have them I get attached but my job is to build the foundation then hand them over and hope I made the right decision entrusting them to a stranger which is why it's important for me to get to know all my future buyers. I've had some truly amazing experiences from all this which I'll cherish the rest of my life. This is a very demanding job yet rewarding and I feel I'm very lucky to be able to experience this in my lifetime and do what I love to do. So with that, it's my goal to give you a forever friend and the best way to do that is to give your future dog a great start in life which is what I provide. My greatest hope is that all pups are placed with great families and have a long, healthy and happy life.

Q. & A. with Cheryl

  • Why did you start breeding?

Since I can remember, I had a love of all animals. I actually wanted to become a vet but that didn't work out. I started out as a small hobby breeder breeding Teddy Bears, German Shorthairs & Labrador Retrievers at different times of my life. These were our family pets and part of the family as well. After a span of 25+ years I decided to allow my dogs to live out their golden years. All lived to 16-17.5 yrs. To this day I still miss them all.
  • What makes your program special?

Since I am a small program, each and every one of the litters receives my full attention and care. I am there for my puppies from the time they take their first breath, to the day they leave. I choose families that are looking for a life long family member and have the time for a dog. I've been breeding 30+ years & it's my passion. As for my adult dogs I try to give them a normal life as I can. They love car rides, swimming, chucking many balls in a day and running freely on the enclosed property. I don't have kennels, I have a 14x16 dog house that's heated in the winter and air conditioned in the summer. Complete with a birthing area and futon for their sleeping pleasure. I generally keep 3 in the dog house and the other 3 in the house at night along with my 2 little dogs, That way everyone gets switched out dailyl Exercising and time spent with them is a huge thing in keeping all happy. My dogs mean everything to me as they are family and priority. All are spoiled rotten as well as the puppies while they are here.(sorry can't help myself) When I have a littler here I spend alot of my time socializing along with everything else that goes with raising a healthy, well socialized confident puppy. So when that special family makes their choice they can rest assured I've done everything possible to give you the puppy of your dreams, PLEASE CLICK ON THE LINK BELOW TO VIEW MORE PICS, VIDEOS AND REVIEWS https://www.facebook.com/share/1CpxW269ah/

Cheryl did an excellent job letting me see the liter from 300 miles away. She set up Facetime contacts to show me her newest liter. Good Dog did an excellent job through the whole process of contact and secure payment. Her knowledge and guidance made for a very comfortable puppy sale. She even drove part way to bring me Lizzy

Cheryl was so easy and great to work with during this process! I brought Milo home in July and he's quickly made himself at home. He's extremely smart, potty training was really smooth with the bell system, his personality is wonderful, he is healthy, and loved. At first I was nervous using good dog and worried I would mess it up somehow but Cheryl was a great guide and communication was amazing from when I first messaged about my boy, to bringing him home. She puts so much work into them before they go home and it really shows how much she cares and loves them.

I recently had the pleasure of bringing home a labradoodle puppy from Caldron Falls Doodles and Poodles. Puppy Iris couldnt be more perfect. She is wonderful—she's affectionate, smart and playful. She's healthy and fit . All of which is a testament to how dedicated Cheryl at Caldron Falls Doodles and Poodles is. The entire process, from initial inquiry to bringing my puppy home, was seamless and professional. Cheryl provided, and continues to provide, excellent guidance and support.

We are so very glad that no one adopted this pup before us. She is fantastic! Everything went very smoothly, no complications and we were able to pick up this little love bug quickly. Cheryl was very easy to work with and we got to meet a few of her dogs too. We are thrilled at how quickly "girl 1", now Nalu, picks up on key words for training. She is super smart, very friendly, and just sassy enough to keep you laughing

Cheryl was wonderful to work with! From the get-go, she was honest and transparent. I received pictures and videos quite often of the puppies, which made the whole thing real. It was so nice to be able to see them growing and Cheryl was always in touch with updates. I could reach out to her any time and she was very responsive. We took our puppy home in June and she has adjusted so well. She is an absolute joy to have. Could not thank Cheryl enough for the hard work she puts into this!
