Breeder of Samoyeds

Meet the breeder

I'm Cherie S., the breeder behind Daystar Samoyeds located in Suffolk, VA. Daystar Samoyeds is a show breeding kennel in Southeastern Virginia. We aim to breed Samoyeds that are beautiful, healthy, with the typical sweet temperament.

Q. & A. with Cherie

  • Why did you start breeding?

We have owned Samoyeds since 1980 and began breeding in 1997. We are "active" breeders who have worked for years to raise several girls to breeding age, get all their health clearances, and be able to breed several litters per year while improving the breed.
  • What makes your program special?

We are dedicated to producing Samoyeds that adhere to the standard, are healthy and able to win in the show ring, perform traditional Samoyed work, and be exceptional family companions. In the years since we started breeding, we have concentrated on structure, and specifically front movement. We feel that fronts are a serious problem in our breed and not one that is easily fixed.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
