I'm Kendra B., the breeder behind Dreamer’s Shelties located in Douglass, TX. We specialize in health tested, genetically tested Shelties bred in-home as a hobby to better the breed and share the love of Shelties with others.
Q. & A. with Kendra
Why did you start breeding?
I’ve had Shelties growing up and absolutely love the breed. After joining Sheltie groups on Facebook and seeing all the people looking for one but couldn’t find one, I decided to start breeding to share the Sheltie love!
What makes your program special?
My dogs are my kids. They have the option of sleeping in bed with me if they want. One of my males is my service dog as well. All of my dogs are microchipped, vaccinated regularly, and groomed.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Good level
Dreamer’s Shelties reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Shetland Sheepdogs.
Hip Dysplasia (Preliminary)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
von Willebrand Disease I (vWD I), Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
