Meet the breeder

I'm Laura P., the breeder behind Fifteen Acre Farms Australian Shepherds located in Talala, OK. Our breeding program and facilities are AKC, USDA, and the State of OK licensed, inspected, approved with the highest ratings. Families and other breeders have made their selection here since 2006 so we have plenty of references available and experience safely transporting live animals via air travel. We always have exceptional breeding prospects available that are already health tested. I'm always happy to assist in building a quality breeding program that represents the breed well.

Q. & A. with Laura

  • Why did you start breeding?

My mom raised Sheltie's for 20 years when I was a child, she worked for my current vet for 12 years beginning in the 1980's. My Dad was a rancher so I grew up on a ranch working 7 days a week with animals. I earned a college degree and decided in 2005 to continue on with breeding and training Australian Shepherds as my full-time occupation building on my 4H & AKC show career from childhood.
  • What makes your program special?

All Fifteen Acre Farms Australian Shepherd puppies are produced only from AKC/ASCA registered, DNA profiled, health tested parents. Many of our puppies here are started in obedience training at age 6 or 7 weeks as they are ready and I work with each family to build on the training I have provided here. My puppies also begin potty training at age 4 weeks when they become mobile.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, red merle, blue merle, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in a kennel on my property.
