I'm Nataly R., the breeder behind Foothills Cattery & Kennel located in Brave, PA. Our dogs are bred for health and physical strength with a strong focus on good temperament. They are raised with our large family (lots of noise, playtime, and love from our children and adults), other dogs, cats, and livestock. Located in Pennsylvania, we offer local pickup and shipping.
Q. & A. with Nataly
Why did you start breeding?
We began breeding dachshunds twenty years ago as a means of preserving the breed. Dachshunds, like many breeds, have suffered from fickleness in show judging and inexperienced breeding. We chose to breed for health and physical strength so that this amazing breed can continue in usefulness and vigor.
What makes your program special?
Our dogs are bred with an emphasis on health and good temperament. With these goals in mind, we choose disease-free breeding stock with good physical structure and sweet disposition and expose their young to people, other dogs, and a variety of different animals and environments.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies include miniature and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include sable, cream, red, wheaten, chocolate and tan, black and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
