Meet the breeder

I'm Karie K., the breeder behind Kicking K Australian Shepherds located in Rutledge, TN. Welcome to Kicking K Australian Shepherds! Here at Kicking K, we always strive to produce a level-headed Australian Shepherd that will excel in any situation, but also have the "off" switch when it’s time to come inside the home. Our Shepherds are extremely intelligent and loyal pets that live and go through life by our sides no matter the task at hand. We strive to produce dogs that will excel in an abundance of things such as Family dogs, Farm dogs, Agility, Service dogs & Most importantly excel at all the above and still be calm enough to be a couch potato. We also believe in a healthy pet more than anything and health testing is done on all of our breeding dogs as they become old enough. These tests include CEA, CD, DM, HC/HSF4, HUU, MDR1, CMR1, NCL/NCL6, PRA-PRCD as well as Hip/Elbow OFA.

Q. & A. with Karie

  • Why did you start breeding?

I bought my first Aussie in 2010 and it kinda opened up from there. Along the way I’ve bettered the registrations my dogs, all of our dogs are full panel genetic tested & have Hip/Elbow OFA.
  • What makes your program special?

I feel like a well rounded, healthy & sound pup is great but I feel like our 2 & 10 year guarantee plus our puppy kits set us apart - 8lb bag of food, 3 different bags of treats, collar and leash, blanket, plush & rope toy, supplement, and exposure to weekly baths/blow dry/nail clipping. We try to make sure our families have all they will need for the first 1-2 weeks with their puppy with out having to fret about what to get or not to get.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, red merle, blue merle, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Karie was excellent to work with! As first time puppy owners, we had many questions, and she patiently answered them all. You could see that she cared for the dogs greatly and wanted them to go to good homes.

Hi my name is Frances and my process of getting Molly was wonderful. I had recently loss my beloved Australian Shepherd dog Daisy so needed another puppy like her to help me recover from loosing her. I found Molly online in the Good Dog website. Then I saw Molly who’s breeder was Karie. She was great throughout the whole process of getting Molly. The process was easy and Karie was also very helpful during this time. I would recommend to anyone looking for a fur baby to fill their lives with love and excitement to reach out to Karie because she will make it all so worthwhile 🐶😊💕

Karie was super responsive and easy to work with from initial inquiry to pick up. My pup was so well-behaved and practically house broken from Day 1. Our little girl is perfect. I would definitely buy from this breeder again.

Karie was SO nice to work with, especially considering this is my first time owning an Aussie. I did prior research, but she still helped to explain things about Echo’s parents, health tests, and everything else. Always quick to respond, and she always offers good insight for my 20 million questions lol. It was roughly a 9 hour road trip to get Echo, and it was worth every single minute! She has an extremely even temperament for a puppy, and training her has been a breeze. I wouldn’t trade her for the world; I know she’s going to go far as a sport prospect based on her drive and biddability!
