I'm Marni V., the breeder behind Magnolia Labradors located in Middleton, ID. We are from Idaho and breeds Labrador Retrievers (English). We started in California when we purchased our Maggi from Belgairn Labradors of Middletown, CA in 2017. We have remained in close contact with Jennifer and Ron Kelly of Belgairn Labradors to mentor us on our new adventure. She has been a huge help and is greatly appreciated.
We focus on English Labrador Retrievers. Not the American. English have broader square heads/ faces, shorter and stockier build. We are a hobby breeder and strive for the health and strong breeding standards of the Labrador Retriever. Our fur babies are well loved and socialized. Our grandchildren (ages 15-5) are nearby and give lots of hugs and attention to the pups.
Q. & A. with Marni
Why did you start breeding?
My husband was in the pet industry, professionally, and we discussed which breed we mutually preferred. I've always wanted to share the love of dogs and especially healthy pups with others.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Great level
Magnolia Labradors reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Labrador Retrievers.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
DNA Disease Panel, Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC), Centronuclear Myopathy (CNM), D Locus (Dilute) DNA test
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
