I'm Charles R., the breeder behind Maravillas Dachshunds LLC located in Boerne, TX. We’re breeders specializing in miniature dachshunds. We have several protocols to ensure the health & well-being of all of our dogs. It’s our top priority ensuring our puppy’s go to families. We handle the puppies daily so they will be used to having someone love on them already.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    We got a few miniature dachshunds Bonnie & Clyde. We fell in love with their personalities and the attitude of the breed. Then we met a breeder who was retiring. She was gracious enough to allow us to purchase her breeding stock all AKC. We will have CKC Bonnie & Clyde. All AKC puppies will be available for limited registration unless otherwise specified or agreed upon (i.e. A seasoned breeder, or Guardian home with contract) But basically we decided to take the leap!

  • What makes your program special?

    Our purebred puppies AKC & CKC come with limited registration papers unless otherwise specified or approved. Most likely to another breeder or Guardian home. All of our dogs that we breed live in-house and are family. We treat their puppies like family until the day they leave. We believe this creates a better quality companion for the individual looking for a dog of this breed. We preform genetic testing, puppies are microchipped, they come w/ shots & deworming.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include longhaired, wirehaired, and smooth coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include sable, cream, red, wild boar, fawn (isabella), chocolate and cream, gray (blue) and tan, blue and cream, blue and tan, chocolate and tan, black and cream, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Charles

Charles has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Puppy prices include a $350 non-refundable deposit and between $1,650 - $2,650 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes genetic testing, purebred puppies, microchip, full registration AKC or CKC. Deworming, shots, health guarantee and socialization with other animals and people. Prices are based on color, sex, coat and bloodline. Demand is high. So to be fair we ask for a deposit. Because we do that it prevents others from inquiring guaranteeing your puppy to you!”

  • Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

    After the loss of our beloved black and tan dachshund, we decided it was time to invite a new member to our family. Luckily we found just the right breeder with Maravilla’s Dachshunds LLC. Charles and his wife specialized in miniature dachshunds. They are so knowledgeable about the breed and ready to answer any questions. We were most impressed with the safe and loving environment they provided their pups. After finding just the right fit, we traveled to pick up our Sally. Seeing that the pups were being raised in their home was reassuring. The area was so well organized and meticulously clean. All the pups seem so content, happy, and healthy. We were even able to see Sally’s mother which gave us an insight into the adult Sally would become. We were sent home with a care package of food, toys, a small blanket with her mother’s scent along with much much more. Sally is such a beautiful little dachshund with personality plus. I would highly recommend using Maravilla’s Dachshunds LLC if you are looking for a breeder who will treat your puppy just as you would.

    Mercedes, aka Molly is one very good dog. She’s beautiful as well as smart. She is also very obedient and she loves people, especially children. Molly is house trained and hasn’t had any accidents for the last 5 months. She’s crate trained and holds it until she’s let outside.

    Our experience with Maravillas Dachshund and Charles, the breeder, has been truly exceptional. We are incredibly satisfied with our new puppy and the entire process. Right from the start, Charles maintained excellent communication and kept us updated consistently. He was always quick to respond to our questions, and his friendly and helpful attitude made us feel at ease throughout. It's clear that Charles has a deep love for his dogs, and he takes excellent care of them. Our puppy arrived in wonderful condition - with a beautiful coat, cleanliness, and overall health. The airport pickup was hassle-free, and Charles even provided a complimentary ride back to the terminal, which was a thoughtful gesture. It included a blanket with the comforting scent of the mother and siblings, pee pads, high-quality food, a cute t-shirt, and a folder with all the necessary documents and guidelines for puppy care. Even after bringing our puppy home, Charles has continued to be incredibly supportive, readily answering our questions and offering assistance.
