Q. & A. with Caitlin

  • Why did you start breeding?

I've always been a huge dachshund fan. Growing up my aunt always had dachshunds. I have a strong passion for the breed and a desire to keep the dachshund breed strong with appropriate breeding and a great understanding of genetics. My number one goal is to better the breed and educate myself in genetics, bloodlines, and conformation.
  • What makes your program special?

I spend time on a daily basis giving hands-on and affection to my dogs and the puppies I produce. I'm a firm believer that my dogs are a member of the family. I strongly believe in having a firm understanding of the genetics of dachshunds and finding the appropriate home for each baby.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include cream, red, chocolate, chocolate and cream, black and cream, black and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

“The search for a dachshund puppy became much more difficult than I expected. It took had to read a lot of profiles before deciding which breeder to choose. Caitlin clearly met all of my criteria. She is the only Montana breeder that is both State and County licensed. She has also been vetted as a premium breeder through GoodDog. Her love and commitment to the breed is exceptional. All of her dogs are AKC registered, DNA and health tested. When I brought my beautiful girl home it was evident how much hands on time had been spent on her. She was using the potty mat from day one and she slept through the night with no crying. She warmed up to my entire family, and all were for here for the occasion! Everyone was so impressed with her confidence and sweet disposition. Caitlin should be proud. She was great to work with and communication was so easy. Puppy even had a photo album from all of the photos she e-mailed. The only difficult part was picking which puppy and the 8 week wait! But all so perfect and so worth it. Caitlin is a true professional and a gift to the breed. I highly appreciate and recommend her in every way.”

Caitlin was wonderful! She provided weekly updates and photos. On our day of pickup she was very patient and understanding of my delays and when we picked him up, she had a huge bag of goodies for our puppy. We are so happy with him and have been enjoying watching him grow and learn. Once we get settled, we will definitely be going back to Caitlin for another puppy.

Caitlin is a very knowledgeable breeder. We got our beautiful Maddie from her and she even worked with a transporter for us to get her several states away. Our girl is in good health and is adjusting to her new life very well. Thank you Caitlin!

Caitlin has been a fantastic breeder to work with. She answered all of my questions in a friendly and professional manner. Our new pup is a complete joy with the perfect amount of spunk and cuteness. She learned her name in a day and is very attentive. Gets along great with my other mini dachshund as well!
