I'm Destanee L., the breeder behind Ohana Companions located in Carlock, IL. We have occasional litters of Mini/Toy Aussiedoodles and Toy Poodles. All of our dogs have completed genetic health panels and are cleared for over 140 testable genetic diseases. Our puppies are raised in the center of our home underfoot. Our whole family has a hand in making sure we raise happy well-adjusted pups. We breed for quality, not quantity.
Q. & A. with Destanee
Why did you start breeding?
After grooming for 18
years I have seen a lot of heartbreak caused by avoidable diseases. After working under one of the top cocker spaniel breeders in the country for a decade I knew I could raise healthy happy dogs for families like my own.
What makes your program special?
Our dogs are family first. I believe the love and care that is put into our dogs shines through our program.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our Poodle puppies are toy size. Aussiedoodle puppies are mini size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Poodle puppies include apricot, brown, cafe au lait, cream, parti, and phantom. Aussiedoodle puppies include blue merle, red merle, black phantom, black and white, black tri-color, red phantom, and red tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Good level
Ohana Companions reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Aussiedoodles.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
