I'm Dawnetta C., the breeder behind Roanwood German Shepherds located in Carlisle, AR. Dedicated to preserving the working line German Shepherd Dog. We actively train and title our dogs. Our dogs are driven, powerful, athletic, highly intelligent, and have a strong willingness to please their handler. I strive to make sure every owner has the ability to get the very best out of their puppy.

Why did you start breeding?
I got into breeding after seeing a need to preserve the German Shepherd Dog. I work with all of my dogs and wanted to carry on those special traits to the next generation.What makes your program special?
I try to combine dogs with the traits and characteristics that will help the next generation to succeed. I make sure that the dogs I breed have good orthopedics, health and have the working ability that a German Shepherd Dog should have.What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies include stock and plush coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Canine Good Citizen (CGC), Brucellosis, Temperament Test
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
