I'm Monique P., the breeder behind Rocky Mountain Pomeranians located in Pueblo, CO. A small reputable in-home breeder where our fur babies are family. Our dogs are bred for health and temperament so they can live long happy lives with their forever families. We are dedicated to improving the Pomeranian breed one step at a time.
Q. & A. with Monique
Why did you start breeding?
I got into breeding because my parents bred AKC Pomeranians when I was a little girl. We had two adorable babies named Princess and Prince. Thanks to them I fell in love with the Pomeranian breed and learned the insides and outs of breeding. If I was lucky and didn’t have school I would be able to watch and even help with delivering Princess’s little bundles of joy. It was a wonderful experience.
What makes your program special?
What makes our breeding program special is that we do both health and genetic testing. We health test with OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) and genetic test with embark. Another reason why our program is special is that we have recently started titling our dogs in different AKC activities. We are hoping to title each and everyone of our dogs in the future.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black and tan parti, black parti, orange, black, chocolate, chocolate and tan, blue merle, orange sable, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Monique was incredibly responsive to our initial inquiry, promptly providing us with detailed information and plenty of photos. We then had a FaceTime call, during which Monique took the time to answer all of our questions in depth and let us see our pup in action. She even connected us with multiple references—other Rocky Mountain puppy owners—who all shared positive experiences.
Monique’s approach to finding the right match was thoughtful and thorough; she took the time to vet us as well, showing her dedication to ensuring each puppy goes to the right home. The entire process felt transparent, straightforward, and stress-free. We’re absolutely thrilled with our new family member, Moose, and would definitely recommend Monique to anyone looking for a Pomeranian!
