I'm Lisa E., the breeder behind Silver Oak Swissies located in Santa Clarita, CA. Silver Oak is a devoted small scale family breeder located in beautiful Southern California. Home to Brig, one of the Top 20 Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs in 2016. We strive to produce exceptional quality Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs focusing on temperament, health, correct structure, and breed type. All of our dogs have passed GSMDCA recommended health clearances: hips, elbows, shoulders, cardiac, and eyes. Our dogs are active in the show ring and have proven themselves in working and performance events. Our Swissies are raised as part of the family while enjoying all of the outdoor activities that California has to offer. We are members of the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Club of America, Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Club of the Rockies, and Golden Gate Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Club.

What makes your program special?
Both my husband and I cherish our time with each litter. We believe in exposing our puppies to different stimuli and spend many hours socializing them with people of all ages and other dogs in our home.

They live in my home.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Brucellosis
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
