Meet the breeder

I'm Tanya Y., the breeder behind Sudenblick German Shepherds located in Jerusalem, AR. Our dogs are bred for health, temperament, and working ability. We strive to produce the "all-around" versatile GSD with sound conformation. Our puppies have the temperament to be amazing family members and the drive and trainability to do fun sports or protection.

Q. & A. with Tanya

  • Why did you start breeding?

I acquired my first German Shepherd in 2006. Although she had a spirited temperament, she faced several health challenges, which prevented us from engaging in the activities I had envisioned. Determined to have a different experience with my next dog, I began extensive research and consulted with experienced breeders. This journey led to an incredible opportunity to whelp a litter from titled parents. I eagerly accepted, as it allowed me to select a puppy that aligned with my expectations. From that litter, my foundation male, Athos, was born—and the rest is history.
  • What makes your program special?

I go out of my way to prove my dogs versatility. I will do Schutzhund/IPO/IGP, Dock diving, weight pull, barn hunt, obedience, fast cat, lure coursing and many more. I am one of the few breeders with DDR/East German lines doing anything with my dogs. *AKC breeder of merit*
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include long and stock coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include sable, black, black and tan, and bi-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
