I'm Sandra S., the breeder behind Sunburst Goldens located in Mill Creek, WA. Sunburst Goldens reside in our house and we never have more than 4 resident Goldens. To ensure our puppies are socialized, and our puppy buyers are prepared, we require all potential buyers to attend five, 2-hour classes. This thorough approach has guaranteed a wonderful experience for you and for our puppies!
Q. & A. with Sandra
Why did you start breeding?
I have a bachelor's degree in biology and always wanted to raise horses and dogs. My first two Goldens exemplified the "multi-purposeness" of this breed and I was sold on maintaining and breeding those abilities and aptitudes.
What makes your program special?
In 2001, I added a requirement of five, mandatory 2-hour classes that all my puppy buyers must attend BEFORE they take their puppies home. The first hour is spent with the puppies, and the second hour is in a lecture/discussion format. Four years ago, I attended an Avidog seminar with a focus on providing an even greater enrichment environment for my puppies. Those two focuses complement each other and have proven to result in great, socialized puppies.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
