I'm Susan L., the breeder behind Susan's Basset Hounds located in Meyersdale, PA. We work very closely with our veterinarian with responsible breeding- once per year- until age 4 or 5. Our Bassets have a wellness exam before breeding to make sure they are in the best of health. Each puppy goes to its forever home with: AKC litter Registration certificate and AKC welcome packet, vet examination certificate, puppy blanket with mommas scent, bag of puppy food. Puppies will also have their first set of vaccinations and first wormer. Second wormer sent home with puppy.

Why did you start breeding?
My daughter wanted to raise basset hounds so we decided to raise bassets as a family.What makes your program special?
We house raise our basset’s with love they are a part of our family. As a family we spend a lot of time taking care of and playing with them.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are black brown and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

+5We are very lucky to have breeder that truly loves their Bassett Hounds. Susan has been top notch when it comes to my many questions Susan responded almost instantly! Duke is our puppy we purchased from Susan. We were able to get many pictures of Duke, his mom and dad, and Duke's brothers and sisters. We were able to see how big Duke was getting. When it was time to pick up Duke, we were able to see where Duke lived. Susan was amazing with handling Buttercup, mom, and Billy ,dad,and the babies. The puppies were in constant around their parents. You can tell Susan really cared about the parents and the puppies. When asked where did you Duke, I am proud to let them know that Susan is an excellent breeder. If we plan on getting another Bassett Hound puppy we will go with Susan again.
