Meet the breeder

I'm Eva R., the breeder behind Sweetie Pie Pugs located in Rutherfordton, NC. At Sweetie Pie Pugs, our Pugs are part of our family and raised to be important members of your family. Each litter is raised in a special nursery in our home and given lots of love and care.

Q. & A. with Eva

  • Why did you start breeding?

My parents started raising Pugs when I was 12, so Pugs are the only breed of dog I have ever had. I have had Pugs my entire life except for a short period in college when dogs were not allowed in dorms. I now am surrounded by Pugs, which is a lovely way to live and brings me happiness.
  • What makes your program special?

We potty train our Pugs on an indoor potty patch. They each have a toy with their pack scent sent home to ease separation anxiety. The parents have been genetically tested for Pug Encephalitis, PK deficiency and degenerative myelopathy. Our Pugs are all AKC registered. Each week we send our families an email with pictures, a YouTube video and puppy information.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black and fawn. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
