I'm Becky N., the breeder behind Twin Oaks Westies located in Fairborn, OH. I have been breeding and showing West Highland White Terriers for 35 years. All of my dogs are in my home and treated like family members. I breed when I am looking to add to my program. I carefully choose the sire and dam in order to produce the best quality possible. I do everything I can to ensure the puppies have everything they need to develop into healthy and happy dogs.
Q. & A. with Becky
Why did you start breeding?
My first dog was bought on a show and breeding contract. I was instantly hooked and the rest is history.
What makes your program special?
Quality goes in based on science and genetics. I do DNA screening as appropriate for my breed. It is important to me that dogs do what they were bred to do in order to keep minds sharp.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Parent health testing
Breeder-Reported Testing
Great level
Twin Oaks Westies reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for West Highland White Terriers.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Legg-Calve-Perthes (OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Craniomandibular Osteopathy (CMO)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
