Meet the breeder

I'm Terri H., the breeder behind Caristeda Kennels located in Butler County, OH. I'm a home-based breeder of quality Doxies and Salukis who loves showing my dogs in the daytime just as much as I enjoy snuggling with them at night! I breed to enhance my lines and add to my breeding program. It may be 2-3 years between litters before I find the right stud. My passion for these dogs is poured into every aspect of my breeding program. I truly love my dogs and what I do!

Q. & A. with Terri

  • Why did you start breeding?

My mother started in Salukis over 35 years ago. She got into Dachshunds about 25 years ago. I took over the Dachshund lines and will choose the next stud dog or which female will be complimentary to which stud. It is such an honor to preserve the line of these incredible dogs all the while creating companionship for others!
  • What makes your program special?

My love for these dogs is reflected in the personal touch I put into making sure the addition of your new puppy is a truly joyful experience. I have a grooming shop in which the puppies go to daily from day 1. I don’t breed to sell puppies. I breed to continue the pedigree that I have. I raise each puppy as if they are staying with me. I look forward to connecting you with your next beloved companion!
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Dachshund puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
