Meet the breeder

I'm Black Pond A., the breeder behind Black Pond Australian Shepherds located in Edgartown, MA. Yes, we currently have dogs available; visit blackpondaussies.com . We raise our puppies in a family environment. Being both a breeder and a veterinary nurse, health care and temperament are at the core of raising our Aussies.

Q. & A. with Black Pond

  • Why did you start breeding?

Having been a Veterinary Nurse for over a decade, I aim to breed dogs that would impress me if brought into my place of work, in both a conformation/health and personalty/temperament capacity. With a life-long history of working with/training animals, including horses and dogs, I wanted to use my skills and education to put dogs into this world that exemplify the efforts of proper breeding.
  • What makes your program special?

Our goal and passion is raising Australian Shepherds with a strong foundation of socialization and even-keeled temperaments. We genuinely enjoy raising and training the pups, and are so proud of every dog we have bred. Black Pond Australian Shepherds is constantly studying and keeping up with current/relevant health care for all our dogs. Representing Australian Shepherds is an honor.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, red merle, blue merle, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
