Meet the breeder

I'm Johnna R., the breeder behind Heart Song Standard Poodles located in Huntsville, AL. We produce versatile companion. Poodles are intuitive, intelligent and low shedding. We believe poodles are one of the best dogs and are a wonderful member of the family. Our goal is to breed friendly, temperamentally stable poodles. Standard, miniature or moyen we love them all.

Q. & A. with Johnna

  • Why did you start breeding?

My first standard Poodle was Bonnie. My Father, a veterinarian had met several in his practice and admired their intelligence and calm demeanor. My mother had asthma and it was decided a poodle was the best low allergy dog for our family. Once I had Bonnie I was hooked on poodles. I want to give a poodle to families to be their faithful companion and someone who loves them unconditionally.
  • What makes your program special?

Our standard poodles are family. They live in our home, attend a variety of training classes, love to travel and explore the world with their family, and bring joy to us everyday! We don't remove tails or dewclaws which makes our dogs healthy and less prone to certain injuries and arthritis. We strive to breed healthy, solid temperament, friendly dogs.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies include miniature, moyen, and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include sable, apricot, black, blue, brown, white, parti, and phantom. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
