Meet the breeder

I'm Leah M., the breeder behind Field and Willow Farm located in Ruther Glen, VA. A laid back, small homestead with a variety animals & our sweet labs! Our priority is to raise well-rounded, loving companions. Our breeding dogs are our family and are chosen from the start for their temperament and good health to make sure your puppy is your partner for many years to come!

Q. & A. with Leah

  • Why did you start breeding?

I have been involved with breeding since middle school and 4H. I worked under a golden retriever breeder and got lots of hands on experience. I've helped with other litters of puppies through the years when we finally decided to start our own program.
  • What makes your program special?

We specialize in family dogs and hunting partners. We hand pick our dogs for their temperament as well as looks and health.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Labrador Retriever puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Dilute Retriever puppies are charcoal. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

I really appreciate how communicative and informative Leah has been throughout the process of bringing Lady home. It was seamless through and through. I feel that we paid a fair price for our girl, and she has such a sweet temperament thus far than I can only attribute to how she was conditioned before joining our family! As a first time dog mom, I appreciate her already having initial shots as well as already being microchipped! Thank you Leah and family!
